John Makowsky
John Makowsky, born on July 6, 1950, in Norwalk, Connecticut, is a highly respected bookseller on Amazon with a stellar five-star rating. He completed his early education at Rowayton Elementary and Brien McMahon High School, and he obtained a degree in secondary education for social sciences from Castleton University. John Makowsky is a distinguished professional who is well-versed in his field and committed to his work.
The Bailey Beach and School Pond in Rowayton were some of my favorite places to visit growing up. However, what I enjoyed most was cruising around on the Five Mile River and fishing with my parents. When I was in college, I took over the operations of the family lobster business and gained valuable experience in nurturing the environment. As a result, I was able to share my story of being a lobsterman with the world through my book, True Tale of a Lobsterman.
After graduating, John Makowsky continued to work in the lobster business. He met Debbie, who would later become his soulmate, and the two of them taught skiing in Sugarbush, Vermont. After getting married to Debbie, John’s lobstering career took off, and he was able to purchase a new fishing vessel, the “Intrepid,” a 42-foot Cape Dory Trawler; hence, it can be called Captain John’s Boat.
Year-round lobstering developed a keen sense of the rhythms of nature and his connection to the sea. While John was captain of the F/V Intrepid and lobster fishing in a New Hampshire place called Waters, he came to love a Great Black-backed gull he named RedEye.
His whole experience and positive energy helped him write an inspirational book and some Bedtime Stories.
